Come and take a walk with me, along my favourite arrondisement in Paris.
The 7th… while home to the Eiffel, is so much more than that!
There was once a couple of art loving friends who asked me how my holiday to Paris went. As we were browsing through my pictures, they caught one of me standing infront of the Louvre. They asked me if I managed to see the latest exhibition of some famous artist featuring his acclaimed paintings. Apparently, I was there during the same time the exhibit was on. I shook my head and mentioned I had unfortunately missed it. I quickly changed the subject before I had to admit that I didn’t even bother entering the Louvre that year. I had just taken the “mandatory” photo and left… I went to the 7th instead.
My “museum” in Paris would have to be the likes of the market at Rue Cler. I could spend hours walking up and down the cobblestoned street browsing through the butcher’s shop, chocolatiers, fruit stands
vegetable shops,
cheese stands,
flowershops,
Sometimes, I lose my self when looking at all the fresh seafood…
and then sometimes, they stare right back!
When I get tired, I stop and have a drink at one of the cafes, a bite at one of the patisseries or boulangers, and then start the tour again!
The seventh is also home to some of my favourite restaurants in Paris. These include all the Christian Constant restaurants and La Fontaine de Mars on Rue Saint Dominique.
Plus, a recently discovered gem, Le Clos des Gourmets. We drop by for lunch and have our best meal on this trip so far!
Thank you for taking this tour with me. I hope you enjoyed as much as I did!
[…] day wasted, I was hoping for a little back of the Paris that I loved. So of course I headed to the 7th Arrondisement which is my favourite. The markets were opened and we were welcomed by a Frenchman playing music on […]
Ahhh Paris, my favourite city in the world. Three more months and I’ll be back there. Love your photo’s !
Oh My God, Trissa, great pics, and I love 7th arrondissement!! One of my fave, with 1st and 6th arrondissements!!
It looks like you had an amazing trip overseas, I’m really glad for you. Now I can’t wait to go back to Paris myself. Going in June and September to see the family and get married, I’m super busy planning all the cafes and markets and restaurants I want to try our this time 😉
I feel like I’m there. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking!
Glorious trip. And there’s no better way to experience Paris than in the cafes and at the markets.
the 7th and the 5th are my two favorite area’s in Paris….how I do miss them as well as all of Paris….sigh….thank so much for stirring my memories….
I am so glad I found your blog!
Dennis
Is that you in the last pic? Fabulous!!
Your beautiful pictures definitely do justice to the magic of Paris. You’re making me miss France so much!
I would have done the same. It’s art too, isn’t it?
I love your images!!! please do come by my blog and participate on my new giveaway… your images are great for it!
This is such a visually exciting post for me! The 7th is my favorite too, unfortunately I miss it earlier this year because a family member was ill while I was visiting. Thanks so much for capturing all that I miss out on during the trip. The currants and morels look beautiful!
Trissa I just want to say I love your blog! I love your photos and your blog is one of the few I actually read instead of skimming through the photos. Thankyou!
You just made me laugh Trissa… I am the same when it comes to choosing between watching art or browsing the markets… I would always go for the markets. In fact… (a little embarrased now) I have been to Paris for maybe 7 times and I have only been inside the Louvre once… Not a person to look at paintings I am afraid.
I totally looooove your photos! Beautiful shots!
Yes, Trissa the weather was delightful! I love the 7th, too……and the 8th…..and the 9th….and well, all of Paris. I have been exploring some parts I haven’t been to recently. Your first pic is absolutely stunning. I love seeing Paris through your eyes 🙂
Trissa, absolutely great pictures…enjoyed very much all of them.
Gorgeous shots! I loved this post – thanks so much for sharing =)
Trissa, beautiful photographs. I so wish I could be in Paris again too. Spring time is just perfect there.

the photography is really gorgeous and the colours are really vibrant.
Thanks for the tour Trissa. I would rather visit the farmer’s market. I guess the Seventh is the place to be for me too. Beautiful photos as always.
You find time to blog even when on holiday? Lucky us, so we can share in all the beautiful sites and tastes you’ve discovered. Keep ’em coming 🙂
You’re killing me with these gorgeous photos. Gee, I miss Paris A LOT. Have a great time and please post more pics soon.
Trissa, thanks for taking us through your wonderful trip in Paris. It triggered all the lovely memories of my trip there years ago. Unfortunately, I lost my camera and pictures there in a restaurant. Too bad, couldn’t share with my friends. 😦
The markets looks fantastic. Would probably lose myself in there for hours geeking out over the produce.
I certainly did enjoy this tour! Amazing photographs, amazing places, amazing city. Beautiful!
Magda

Gorgeous photos Trissa, those markets are amazing, I am sure I would lose myself too. Photos like these make me impatient to get there (never been) but I know it’ll happen one day! Patience is a virtue, and all that…hmm..
How lovely to spend April in Paris. Your photos of the market tour was ALMOST as good as being there. I found your wonderful blog by chance, but I’ll be back often to see what you’ve been doing. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Blessings…Mary
That first photo is very pretty-I like the sepia effect.
OMG! Such fabulous photos. Thank you for sharing! One day I will go to but for now I will satisfy myself with you tales. You have brought me joy at the end of the day!
Wonderful photos! Thanks for sharing. I wish I could be in Paris too!
Gorgeous pics! Makes me want to go again!
Awww, gorgeous photos! It’s almost been a year since I was last in Paris and oh how I miss it!
That’s how fresh fish should be sold – whole and eyes staring at you….lol
That La Fontaine de Mars did not have chairs facing outsides..that’s abnormal in France! haha
I have an urge to pop on the plane right now and head for Paris!!! Fabulous pictures once again.
Perfectly seared scallops has my mouth watering.
It’s so beautiful! Thank you for taking us on the tour with you!
Trissa, I wish I am in Paris… Still have not seen the louvre yet – all the shopping took priority during my 2 whirlwind trips there. I will definitely have to go back and do a proper coverage of the city… and Versailles.
what amazing photos u are so lucky to have gone!
I can totally relate! While I was living in Paris I did the mandatory Louvre and such but I found all these museums exhausting plus they always changed the rules; they would open and close on different days and sometimes would check in your coat if it was fake fur and some other times they would only check your coat if it was real sable; I finally realized I like to appreciate art in small galleries, c’est tout!
So yeah, the marchés and the cafés, I am all for! Go girl, I am with you!
Oh…it all looks so wonderful…
God, I am so jealous. That’s where I belong. It makes my heart hurt to read this and see these photographs. However, if this is the closest I can get, it’ll have to do. I can practically smell the espresso and cigarettes. . .
How awesome!! I want to go! I’ve never been to Paris – all the fresh food in the markets – yumm!
I am so jealous Trisssa! I would love to experience Paris one day. Your photos are absolutely stunning. The first photo is so romantic. Haha I think I’d be like you, spend time looking at food/produce and going to cafes then at musseums.
Oh my goodness- Grilled salad of scallop and chicken wings- how could anything be more divine. Your beautiful photos are making me hungry and wishing I too, could be in Paris.
Ohhhhhhhh Paris, how I miss thee! Your pics, while gorgeous on their own, make me want to hop on a plane to Paris right now! *sigh* … just look at those morels … and cheese … and flowers.
i generally don’t like my food to be looking back at me, but that’s just a quirk i have… 🙂
keep the lovely images coming, trissa!
Beautiful Trissa! Love the Eiffel tower pic and the last one! So “Paris” and very romantic! Love the tour…look forward to more.
