Today I received an email from my Dad, telling me that my two labradors were fine… that is… “fine but undisciplined”. When I read this I showed the note to my husband and we both agreed my Dad was wrong. Sure, they have had their share of accidents, but we firmly believe that they are just adventurous explorers (also known as notorious scavengers)!
How could I not miss them when no matter how late I come home, they are there wagging their tails, so excited to greet me. Bizou, runs to her bag of toys and picks up her stuffed cat (that has seen better days) and gives it to me as a welcome gift.
Baci will sit in the kitchen and watch over me as I cook EVERY single time. People say it’s because she wants some scrap of food, I like to believe it’s because she just likes to learn.
As I write this, I miss how Baci will lay by my side and rest her head on my feet. And a few feet away, Bizou will be beside, snoring and dreaming. And I know she is dreaming because she starts woofing and moving her feet as if running in the park!
So my dogs so far are safe and sound, my parents are making sure that they behave. And, I was told, every morning they wait by my room expecting me to open the door and take them for a walk.
And in the meantime, I have taken an obsession in taking photos of dogs around Paris and Madrid…
I always heart dogs! I have a female beagle and she just so adorable. She’s my little baby!
I thoroughly enjoyed your photos of the dogs! You are a talented photographer! We feel the same way about our little pup (Andie). They certainly have the most interesting personalities!
You found some adorable European dogs 🙂
Unfortunately, our poor dog had a run in with a porcupine… we didn’t witness the incident, but we found a few quills on her chest and had to pull them out. Thankfully she’s doing fine 🙂
the last one is too cute..your dogs are missing you too a lot for sure.. 🙂
Aaawww… those are all just too cute Trissa!! And that last photo is just melting my heart. It’s funny really because I always end up shooting loads of pictures of cats too when I away from home.. 🙂 Must be an addiction… 🙂
When I moved to California, I missed my mini Schnauzer for so long….:(
Awwww, now I’m all emotional! Sweet post … and I LOVE dogs (shhh, don’t tell my cat ;)).
Dogs are really adorable and they do brighten our days no matter how bad it is at the end of the day. You have great shots of dogs here.
that last one is sooo cute!
Hey Trissa, I love these photos. Dogs are so wonderful. I hate to admit that being a witch and all (smile), but they just are. That black puppy is especially cute. Hope you are enjoying yourself-looks like you are…
Aww Trissa. No matter what people say at the end of the day our dogs are family. My dog Gizmo is like a garbage truck and snores louder than my dad, then there is my mums dog
Milo who has ADD and an attitude to boot. It’s all personality. People can judge all they want at the end of the day, that unconditional love from a pet is priceless..
I don’t have a dog to miss…but always love the different scenarios with owners and their dogs. I sat next to a table with their dog in Paris last week. He was just like a well trained toddler….shy at times and fully engaged at other times. Fun.
I hope you get home soon to your darlings…has the volcano affected your travels?
Safe traveling.
Oh some lovely dogs Trissa. I imagine your dogs are missing you too.
This was a wonderful post. It must make you happy to know your ‘babies’ are being so well-cared for in your absence. Your photos of them are wonderful and your stories are dear. I hope you are having a not too miserable day without them. Blessings…Mary
Dogs are family. What more is there to say?
Too cute! Glad to hear you’re dogs are behaving themselves (or not)
i love that you have such an attachment to your pups–i’m sure they miss you too, in those brief moments when they’re not distracted by a random fly or something equally mundane. 🙂
So cute!! I can completely relate – my German Shephard loves it when I cook – and not just for the morsels. I think he loves how happily I plod about the kitchen, stepping over him to get to the fridge. He just lies there and sleeps through the lot. It’s the only time my ADD puppy is calm!! 🙂
I love my Tekkie, my baby no matter what other people say. I understand totally.
The reunion is going to be SO exciting. You had best be careful, they might wag their tails clean off!
What a beautiful, heartwarming post. I love the gorgeous pictures of all the doggies too. Awww.
Thanks Trissa for a wonderful sentimental post that will resonate with all dog lovers like us all over the world. You couldn’t find more worthy subjects for your fantastic photography skills.
Enjoyable read 🙂
Ciao, Devaki @ weavethousandflavors
Dear Trissa – I did answer your question about the fish for ceviche…not sure if you checked back 🙂
Ciao, Devaki
aww the last photo is absolutely adorable 🙂 so cute! I’m sure your dogs are missing you too!
Obviously having fun…….I would say go to Mona, G Detou and Bruno’s in Paris but I guess you don’t need to….coming from Oz. Oh well. Enjoy
I was obessed with taking pics for all animals and kids for a long time. I totally understand the need for it. Great pics. I wish I was there but instead i’m stuck at work 😀
Oh they are adorable.. I mean Baci and Bizou as well as they cute cute snaps.. LOVE the last two!!!
What a sweet post :). I bet they will be so happy to see you!
*kisses* HH
Oh my goodness. This is weird. I have forever wanted a black lab and his name was always going to be ‘baci’. You are living my dream, Triss 🙂 Hehe.. hope you’re having fun!
I am not a dog person, but this is such a sweet post. And, who couldn’t love those adorable dogs you show in each photo?
I know just how you feel – even a few days away from our clown-dog is tough. These photographs are wonderful, each one capturing a hint of the personalities of these dogs (and their people, too). My favorite would have to be the bulldog . . . it reminds me of our own dear bully who passed away a few years ago. Miss that grumpy ol’ grouch.
If I HAD to pick a favorite..it’s the first.
I find the doggies adorable and the man looks like a movie star:)All the xepressions are just great.
Wonderful..thank you.They must miss driving.:)
I thought you were going to write an article where Dan or Baci or Bizou had gone missing! 😛
Awww so cute. Your dad’s comment is very funny by the way!
hmmm I’m sure your Dad is looking after them… I met your Dad as we had some drinks with Nito, Mario Matias and Tito Carballo last night. You must miss your dogs hehehe… stay well, take care and enjoy your vacation. I hope the ashes from the Iceland vocano eruption is not affecting your flight schedules… As per the news, lots of flights have been cancelled all over the world… say a lil prayer specially for all… for good health… for world peace… have a pleasant and safe trip. Best regards :))
Oh, my heart is going pit-a-pat!!! Great minds think alike – I have recently started taking photos of the dogs tied up outside Woolies (I hope their owners don’t mind). Your Euro dogs are much more glamorous, though!
awwww…. I know how you feel. I am happy that your two dogs are doing well. I am also looking forward to my trip in May but in the mean time leaving Amelie behind is always hard. But thank god we have a nice dog lady who spoils her to death, so she is in good hand and just like having her own little getaway in a resort. But I think we will miss her more than she misses us!
